WITH A VENGEANCE/LIMITED

Description

Created in 2024 between London and Amsterdam, WITH A VENGEANCE (or WAV for short) is the sound of an exhilarating catharsis, that of SHERELLE making sense of a turbulent and difficult moment in her personal life. Determined to write one track a day, the studio became for SHERELLE a safe space to channel her anger and sense of betrayal, her intense, fast club tracks transforming darkness into cerebral joy at overcoming adversity. From these intense daily writing sessions came a 10-track LP, precise and finely crafted, driven by fierce feminine energy and reflecting the hard/soft and light/obscurity dualities of the dancefloor and life itself. WITH A VENGEANCE is also a rallying cry for the 160 scene, designed to push the tempo in new, exciting and still unexplored directions. Inspired by SHERELLE’s foundational influences, such as Kode9, ScratchDVA, Machinedrum, Lone and SBTRKT, as well as the driving groove of R&G, a subgenre of grime, the album is designed to change the perception of what 160 can be. But beware: this is not a concept album. WAV is made for the dancefloor, offering shades of London, New York, Detroit and Chicago
