"2-3-4" was an atypical album, even for someone as experimental as drummer Shelly Manne (1920-1984). As its title clearly indicates, this 1962 album consists of duos, trios, and quartets. Drum duos are highly unusual, especially for that period. It was also Shelly Manne's last recording with the great Coleman Hawkins.
