Description

Sheila E. needs no further introduction: an early drummer and prodigy from the Escovedo family, a playing partner of Carlos Santana and George Duke, then Prince’s leading associate in the heart of the 1980s. After more than ten years away from solo recording, Sheila E. will be back on November 5 with Icon, a new album where her drumming takes center stage. “This album is really meant for my fans,” Sheila explains. “I wanted to take the time to give back a little of what so many people have given me.” Among the tracks on Icon, there will be the single “Mona Lisa,” the funky “Nasty Thang” feat. Mc Lyte, “Old Skool” feat. Eddie M, “Girl Like Me” as a duet with Ledisi, and “Leader of the Band,” co-written by Prince!
