"Romance 1600" is the second album by singer-drummer-percussionist Sheila E. On this album, Prince contributed to the backing vocals, guitar, and bass, and co-wrote/co-produced "A Love Bizarre," a 12-minute epic that became a major hit. The album itself contained many personal tracks that help support the embodiment of the thematic episodic adventure of the faux French Renaissance that the music video for the lead single and the album cover intended to set up for the listening audience. During her break, she received a lot of media exposure, notably appearing in the film Krush Groove, where she performed "A Love Bizarre" and "Holly Rock." She also performed in front of a large audience during Prince and The Revolution's Purple Rain tour. "A Love Bizarre" is the most successful single from the album.
