They return with a bang with Drunk Tank Pink, their second album set to be released on January 15 via Dead Oceans/[PIAS]. There are moments on this new record where you almost have to listen closely to confirm that it’s indeed the same band that made the album Songs of Praise in 2018. Such is the leap forward that Shame has made, transitioning from the post-punk riot of their early days to the sprawling adventurousness of this new work. Recorded in the legendary La Frette studio in France, the songs flow into one another and take unexpected directions. The result is here, a rare and incomparable post-rock gem.
