Minor Slip marks Shaki Tavi's debut on Felte, a project by DIY musician Leon Manson, originally from Oklahoma and based in Los Angeles. Accompanied by a close circle of friends, Manson crafts songs that are powerful, vulnerable, and surprisingly catchy. Through a wall of fuzz guitars and overdriven drums, bright pop choruses emerge, carried by his deep, raspy voice and inventive structures. Born out of burnout, the album was built around a simple impulse: to rediscover the joy of creating for oneself. Minor Slip captures this tension between saturation and clarity, chaos and beauty. On the single Breaker, kaleidoscopic guitars meet a laid-back breakbeat, while Foam plays with the contrast between screaming riffs and Big Beat pulses. The songwriting spanned several years, amidst doubts, revisions, and studio retakes with his musicians. While he remains the driving force behind the project, Manson is deeply rooted in the alternative scene of L.A., particularly through the Non Plus Ultra collective. He describes the album as a process of survival as much as creation: "a burden sometimes, a lifeline often — a way of welcoming things as they come, even when they go a little off track."
