Description

On often identifies Raoul Vignal by his guitar playing (subtle arpeggios and finger-picking), by his singing imbued with a luminous melancholy. One sometimes forgets to mention his writing talents. In the manner of impressionist painters, he captures and draws inspiration from the atmosphere of his daily life. Nomadic, his compositions are as many stories, as many postcards. The conception of his new album Shadow Bands is set against the backdrop of his return to Lyon, his hometown, about ten years after leaving it. A new stroll through time (subtly accompanied on drums by the rhythms of Lucien Chatin), Shadow Bands features this simplicity and crystalline poetry that precious infiltrates us.
