Shabazz Palaces will release their third album Quazarz: Born On A Gangster Star on July 14 via Sub Pop. This album includes featured tracks such as 'Shine A Light' with Thaddillac, 'Since Caya', and 'Moon Whip Quaz' with Darrius. It was produced by Knife Hits (aka Ishmael Butler and Erik Blood) and recorded and mixed by Blood in Seattle. Quazarz: Born On A Gangster Star follows the critically acclaimed album Lese Majesty released in 2014. Quazarz: Born On A Gangster Star flirts with a pop sensibility but always through the lens of the group's fury. Appearing here in flesh and blood or spiritually are Julian Casablancas, Thundercat, Darrius, Willrich, Gamble & Huff, Loud Eyes Lou, and many others… The album serves as an introduction and prelude to the story of Quazarz, a character with an ultra-developed sensitivity from elsewhere, an observer sent to Amurderva to chronicle and explore the land as a musical emissary. What he will find in our world is a ruthless place, a landscape where someone like him can never detach from his feeling of discomfort amidst this brutal jungle where death reigns.
