What It Became - Sextet Quartet

Description

In "What it Became", the Sextet Quartet - a quartet with a deliberately oblique name - presents its calling card through nine original pieces: music born at the Conservatory of Vicenza, but already freed from the discipline of the classroom. Tenor saxophone, guitar, double bass and drums chase each other as if through communicating rooms: threshold themes, obstinate cells, sudden clearings. The writing oscillates between song and roughness, mobile meters and controlled dissonances, with a marked taste for the sideways step rather than the demonstrative effect. From Shepard Tune and Presoner to the asymmetries of Fibonacci and Poro-pireiro, passing through the suspension of Microeternità, up to Fernando and Ursatz, the album sketches a sonic modus vivendi: a workshop of brief forms where the logic of detail traces a unique arc - playful on the surface, inexorable in depth.
