Sepulquarta

Description

While the pandemic brought the entire world to a standstill and prevented bands from touring, Latin America’s biggest Metal band refused to sit still and act like an animal trapped in a cage. This live album is a collection of 15 great classics that the band recorded with famous guest musicians as part of its “Sepulquarta podcast”. A Live format that Sepultura hosted once a week during the pandemic. Titled “SepulQuarta”, it will be released on August 03, 2021 via Nuclear Blast and features renowned guest musicians from around the world. Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser commented: “SepulQuarta was born at the very beginning of the pandemic when everything came to a halt. We had released a new album, but we couldn’t go on tour to support it. So we created this recurring event where we could talk with our fans around the world, play our music and exchange ideas. It was great! ‘SepulQuarta’ kept us alive and allowed us to stay strong during one of the most difficult periods in human history.” “Doing ‘SepulQuarta’ during this period allowed me to stay in touch with music. Playing my instrument was the only thing to do in this pandemic,” adds drummer Eloy Casagrande, and indeed, music seemed to be a good way to cope with the endless lockdown and the fear of loss and isolation that haunted people around the world. Clearly, the Brazilian pioneers were not the only musicians to feel this way, so they began connecting with friends and colleagues from around the world and asked them not only to be part of their weekly podcast, but also to join them in playing one of Sepultura’s classics. From their homes, international stars such as David Ellefson, Scott Ian (Anthrax), Danko Jones, Devin Townsend, Matt Heafy (Trivium) and many others recorded a Sepultura track with the band. Mixed and mastered by Conrado Ruther, the album ‘SepulQuarta’ will be available on CD and 2LP vinyl.“We invited our incredibly talented friends to be part of our project, either by playing with us or as guests in the many Q&As we promoted,” says Andreas. “We talked about our history, our music, our politics, our sports, our philosophy, depression and the environment, among other things. We learned a lot from specialized guests and many great minds of today. Here you will find unique performances of Sepultura music from the many phases of our career, with incredible guest musicians who lent us their talent and energy to record these historic versions!”
