SEEMONE

Description

Revealed to the general public at the beginning of 2019, on the show Destination Eurovision on France 2, Seemone made a lasting impression on both hearts and minds, with her warm, husky voice, her raw sensitivity, and her natural elegance. “Tous Les Deux,” a discreet declaration of love from a daughter to her father, moved the international jury deeply (which placed it first in its votes), as well as the general public, propelling the young artist to second place in the final ranking. Coming out of this unexpected media whirlwind, Seemone felt the need to step back and take the time to compose a first album worthy of the expectations she had aroused. Still in duo with Fabrice Mantegna, she co-composed and co-wrote almost all of the 11 songs on this album. The pair share the writing only on “Rue Vivienne,” with Katy Braitman, and on “Dans mes rêves,” a sublime text by Joëlle Kopf (“Adam et Yves,” “Femme libérée”), the last she wrote before her passing. Entirely recorded at the legendary Ferber studios and mixed by Dominique Blanc-Francard (Carla Bruni, Elton John, Benjamin Biolay, Françoise Hardy...), this organic and acoustic album gives pride of place to piano, strings and brass, with exceptional standards. Calling on musicians from the Orchestre National de France and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, as well as the percussion of Nicolas Montazaud (Aznavour, Nougaro, Hallyday...), its production goes against current fashions and trends. The result is an album as singular as it is universal, from which emerges a humanity and emotions capable of touching all generations and all audiences; a collection of intimate and timeless songs, patiently crafted around Seemone’s magnetic voice. And if the album is tinged with a certain gravity and undeniable melancholy, it also lets through a light that is at times stark, at times warm and reassuring, playing with precision on a wide range of emotions and sensations. After the first single “Dans mes rêves,” whose lyrics were written by Joëlle Kopf, and “Coeur de pierre,” “Brun de folie” is the third track taken from Seemone’s first album, due out in early October. It was entirely co-written and co-composed by Seemone and Fabrice Mantegna.
