Radum Calls, Radum Calls is the second solo album by Sean O'Hagan. The first was released in 1990. He is back solo after nearly 30 years of sonic pleasures with his band High Llamas. Over the last decade, there have been two albums from High Llamas. In the meantime, Sean's day job has mostly taken place in the studio, where he has arranged and produced with other bands - most recently, Mount Kimbie, Fryars, James Righton from Klaxons, and Hockney. And many other young talents to come! The style of the new generation is reflected in Radum Calls, Radum Calls, blending the latest bold obsessions with great ancestral traditions. Exquisite melodies, punchy drums, buzzing synths, and sparkling dubby reverb on the percussion are applied to the sound. In these moments of coincidence between the old and the new, Sean's aim is to evoke a new musical language. Sean's approach to lyrics leans towards clever and ironic subtext, reminiscent of John LeCarre or Philip K. Dick.
