Seahawks, the cult cosmic chill electro group from Cornwall, returns to Cascine with a new suite of wandering Balearic house, tinged with oceanic mist, astral dub, and artificial intelligence titled Infinite Echo. Led by the eternal co-captains Jon Tye (founder of Lo Recordings) and Pete Fowler (acclaimed Welsh visual artist), their latest collection emerged from a series of fragments and vignettes inspired by a wide range of influences (from mid-80s digital new age to Higher Octave, Michael McDonald remixed by Oneohtrix Point Never, etc.). The result is elevated and ineffable, like music heard on the edge of dreams, hinting at worlds to come. Tye describes the album's atmosphere as "anti-dystopian," thematically inspired by a series of recent readings and research, from prophetic science fiction novels to Mindar, the Buddhist robot (whose voice appears on the blissful opening track, "Beams Of Love"). Despite the technological innovations at play, the 10 tracks on the record are among the most moving in the group's discography in over a decade, lush, nostalgic, and panoramic. The soprano saxophone, synthesizers, and snippets of celestial voices emerge with a sublime spatial quality, over cosmic bass and metronomes. There is also a unique sense of intentionality in Infinite Echo, linked to their notion of "reciprocal vibrations." These songs were born from a belief in beauty as the law of movement, radiating a reaction that continues like a butterfly effect. No matter where and how this music is heard, it contains seeds of transformative positivity, to be accepted, absorbed, or shared according to the listener's needs. This is not a new age; it is the only age.
