A House With Too Much Fire

Description

A House With Too Much Fire is the new album by British guitarist Andy Cartwright under the alias Seabuckthorn. Strongly influenced by the mountainous landscapes after settling in the Southern Alps, Andy has continued to experiment with raw bow sounds, fingerpicking, and slides, thus opening up a broader range of atmospheres and textures. Recorded in late 2017 and with the wood stove running at full blast, most of the tracks were captured in a single take, giving a spontaneous feel, building around the free and minimal improvisations often present in Seabuckthorn's live performances. Through the latest additions of banjo, clarinet, and synthesizer to accompany the guitars, this album wonderfully reflects the environment in which it was created.
