Big Tube Scene is a project of collaboration and mutual admiration. This split LP brings together tracks from two Pacific Northwest bands, weaving a bridge between the experimental sounds of Seattle and Portland. In spring 2023, Miscomings and Sea Moss were by pure chance booked on the same bill, at a Portland venue that served as a café by day and an all-ages punk concert space by night. That evening marked the birth of a beautiful friendship, fueled by shared sonic affinities and a mutual love of rhythm and noise. Though the venue has since closed its doors, this musical alliance endures. Big Tube Scene immortalizes this meeting between musicians. The split, as a format, allows musicians to support each other, merge their universes, and draw connections between close aesthetics. In a true collective spirit, each side ends with a cacophonous collaborative track, aptly titled Seacomings and Mismoss, recorded live in a Seattle studio with all six musicians playing in unison. This project aims to offer new sounds to eager ears, a sublime two-in-one package, a treat for anyone seeking a groovy, powerful, and sometimes challenging listening experience.
