Unplugged and strung up

Depuis le temps que cette légende du heavy metal britannique nous envoie ces « orages de métal », on avait du mal à croire que SAXON sortirait un jour un album avec ces versions orchestrales, réarrangées et acoustiques. Pourtant, aujourd'hui, cet « Unplugged and Strung Up » révèle la face cachée de la « bête » et nous dévoile un groupe aventureux qui revisite une partie de son immense répertoire avec grande classe. Biff et ses hommes abordent donc certains titres de manière très différente. Des hymnes du « metal lourd » tels que « Crusader », « The Eagle Has Landed » ou encore « Broken heroes » ont été intelligemment réarrangés, alors que « Forever Free » et « Just Let Me Rock » ont carrément été réenregistrés ou que « Stallions of the Highway » a juste été remixé pour l'occasion. Ces « Orchestral versions » côtoient donc des versions totalement acoustiques de « Frozen Rainbow » ou « Requiem », avec en sus quelques inédits. A ce niveau, les forgerons deviennent des orfèvres.
