Unleash the Beast is the thirteenth studio album by the English heavy metal band Saxon and was released in 1997. It was their first studio album with Doug Scarratt on guitar. The new wave of British heavy metal icons Saxon experienced a very unexpected return to favor among metalheads of the time. Unleash the Beast represented the band's gradual rehabilitation process as they returned to the core and did what they do best: play heavy metal! Among the most notable tracks on this album are "Terminal Velocity", "Circle of Light" and "The Preacher". Unleash the Beast allowed Saxon to tour America for the first time in nearly a decade, and thus contributed to their steady rise back into the hearts of metalheads, leading to even more widespread success in the new millennium.
