Saul Williams meets Carlos Nino & Friends at TreePeople is the first collaborative album by poet and singer Saul Williams and percussionist and producer Carlos Nino.The album was recorded live under the black oaks and walnut trees of Coldwater Canyon Park in Los Angeles on December 18, 2024.This concert, organized by Noah Klein of Living Earth on the lands of TreePeople, a long-standing environmental organization, was a first for Williams and Nino, friends since the late 1990s.For the occasion, Nino assembled and directed a group of regular collaborators, including Nate Mercereau (guitar synthesizer, live sampling with Midi guitar...), Aaron Shaw (flute, soprano saxophone with pedals, tenor saxophone), Andres Renteria (bells, congas, Egyptian rattle drum, hand drums, percussion), Maia (flute, vibraphone, voice), Francesca Heart (computer, conch, sound design) and Kamasi Washington (tenor saxophone).
