Sam Morrow has crafted a sound that exists somewhere outside of genre and geography. It’s his own distinct strain of modern American roots music: a blend of roadhouse rock & roll, bluesy R&B, and funky-tonk country, all powered by groove, grit, and guitars. *On The Ride Here*, Sam Morrow’s fifth studio album, was produced by longtime collaborator Eric Corne with a cast of all-star west coast musicians, including bassist Ted Russell Kamp, keyboardist Sasha Smith, and drummers Matt Tecu and Butch Norton, who added primal punch and raw polish to all 11 songs. Morrow rewrote several tracks after initial tracking sessions were complete, intent on delivering the tightest, most taut album of his career. The result is a forward-thinking record that encapsulates his sound better than any album before it.
