With Second Circle The Horizon, Sally Anne Morgan signs an album deeply rooted in her territory and way of life. An artist and naturalist, she grew up to the rhythms of old-time and folk music from the Appalachians. From Alexander, North Carolina, on the edge of the Pisgah National Forest, she composes music where traditional techniques and contemporary sensibility intertwine.In this album, the sounds of her environment - garden, pastures, forests, mountains - intertwine with melodic motifs to create an organic work, in constant dialogue with nature and the communities that surround her. Second Circle The Horizon is a meditation on return, rediscovery: finding something new in the intimate, and recognizing what is familiar to us in the unknown.
