Alexandre "Sacha" Distel, nephew of the famous conductor Ray Ventura, emerges as a key figure in jazz in the 1950s. Influenced by his uncle and the musicians he associates with, he learns guitar from Henri Salvador. Considered one of the best French guitarists as early as 1956, he collaborates with jazz giants such as Dizzy Gillespie, Stan Getz, and Lionel Hampton before achieving success in song.
