Ryo Fukui, a renowned pianist from Hokkaido, sadly passed away in 2016. His first two works, Scenery and Mellow Dream, received a triumphant welcome, and his name is now famous among jazz enthusiasts worldwide. This album, A Letter From Slowboat, was released in 2015: it was his first record as a leader in sixteen years.
