Rumah Sakit 25 - Vinyle 180Gr

Description

Rumah Sakit 25 brings together the band Rumah Sakit’s debut album and their long-out-of-print EP Travels In Constants in an exceptional edition. Meticulously remastered from the original tapes by Bob Weston, the box set includes new artwork by their longtime collaborators Jeremiah Maddock and Marty Anderson. This audiophile 180g double vinyl features printed inner sleeves with hundreds of never-before-seen photos tracing the band's early days, accompanied by a 24-page art booklet with new works by Maddock. Formed in San Francisco in 1998, Rumah Sakit (meaning "hospital" in Indonesian) stood out with a unique fusion of energetic instrumental rock and meditative melodies, far from the math-rock conventions of the time. Their debut album, recorded in 1999 without overdubs, aimed for a pure and honest sonic capture, going against the grain of the nascent digital age. In 2000, they recorded a new EP with Bob Weston at Tiny Telephone Recording, released in Temporary Residence's Travels In Constants series (alongside Mogwai, Low, MONO…). This recording, previously only available in a limited edition, is finally reissued with Rumah Sakit 25 – an essential tribute to an influential and visionary band.
