The Cuban pianist Rubén González was 77 years old when he recorded his first solo album in Havana in 1996. The album Introducing Ruben González was recorded in two days, immediately after that of Buena Vista Social Club and with most of the same musicians. During the recording of this first solo album, Rubén González surrounded himself with a group of carefully selected musicians to play, in live conditions, a selection from the Cuban classical repertoire. He thus delivered Introducing Rubén González, a classic and timeless Cuban piano album.
