Monument Singles Collelction 1960 1964

Description

Roy Orbison is often credited with one of the most powerful voices in rock 'n' roll. He certainly had one of the most unique; yet his lyrical timbre and impressive vocal range served to express a vulnerability that was both discreet and desperate, foreign to most of his rebellious contemporaries, devotees of sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll. This vulnerability undoubtedly explains his immense popularity in the 1960s and why, after a period of near twenty years of quiet, he was able to easily reclaim the spotlight in the 1980s. When David Lynch (in)famously used his song "In Dreams" in the film Blue Velvet, the public—and Roy himself—discovered another facet of his haunting charm, and interest in his music was revived. To celebrate what would have been his 90th birthday, the Monument Singles Collection compilation is available in a limited edition of 1,500 individually numbered copies on gold vinyl, with an insert and printed inner sleeves.
