Highlighting two monster funk/bossa nova tracks by Rosa Maria, we have reissued one of our favorite singles here. Originally released as a 7-inch in 1972 via Tapecar, original copies have become extremely difficult to source. The A-side features "Deixa Nao Deixa" with its Afro-Latin sonorities rich in guitars, brass, and percussion. Add to that a catchy vocal, rich harmonies with funk/bossa grooves, shuffle-filled percussion, and a breathless crescendo build, and you get one of the greatest Brazilian funk records ever pressed. On the B-side you will discover "Avenida Atlantica". The funk and bossa drum grooves flow here as well, while the piano, brass, and vocal performance are all assets to ignite any dancefloor."
