RON GALLO is a singer-songwriter from Philadelphia who perfectly masters the codes of roots rock and garage punk. Gallo founded Toy Soldier, his first band, in Philadelphia at the age of 19 with drummer Mike Baurer. The band drew from American roots music, including blues, country, and folk. Initially a duo, Toy Soldier sometimes grew to 10 members, releasing 2 albums and several EPs. But Gallo was drawn to the idea of making music alone, and migrated from Philadelphia to Nashville to found RON GALLO with Gallo on guitar and vocals, Joe Bisirri on bass, and Dylan Sevey on drums. This new band ventured into more aggressive territories, with a sound inspired by garage rock and old-school punk. The band's audience is loyal in Nashville and Philadelphia, and the trio's energetic live shows became increasingly famous, allowing them to secure a contract with New West Records, also based in Nashville. Heavy Meta, Ron Gallo's first album with New West Records, was co-produced by Ron Gallo and Joe Bisirri.
