Telling a story: this is the vision at the heart of Romain Collin's creations. His compositions, built around strong melodic themes, fascinate with a palette of nuances and emotional clarity. The trio elegantly juggles between dramatic crescendos and subtle interactions, continually suggesting strong images to its listener. After studying at the most prestigious American institutions and gaining recognition from great elders (Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, etc.), Romain Collin quickly makes a name for himself in the USA, where he records alongside artists such as Mike Stern, John McLaughlin, and Christian McBride, while releasing two albums as a leader. NPR (National Public Radio) describes Collin as ''a visionary composer, an extraordinary pianist, and a new young star in the world of jazz,'' and Télérama calls him ''gifted, creator of crossover music between jazz, classical, and electronic music.''
