LA SINGER OF MOLOKO BACK IN SOLOROISIN MURPHY is a singular, unpredictable character who forged her musical identity in Manchester through the various movements that succeeded each other between the 80s and 90s. Singer for Moloko from 1995 to 2000, she developed her stage presence and artistic confidence alongside Mark Brydon, her former boyfriend. It was time to move on, "I wasn't at all sure I could do anything without Mark. I had only known Moloko and I was scared," confesses ROISIN. After a proposal from Matthew Herbert to work together on a record, she was off again and within a few months Ruby Blue was born. The birth of her 2 children kept her away from the stage and studios for a while, but it was in 2014 that the Irish artist decided to return with the crucial support of Eddie Stevens, her producer. Hairless Toys was born after several weeks spent in the studio, with 8 tracks selected for this new album from the thirty that emerged from this long period of work. It's hard to confine this record to a musical genre as it draws its richness from its diversity, as evidenced by the energetic Evil Eyes, the classy Exploitation, or the catchy Gone Fishing. No, this is not Pop, but it raises a final question, "WILL MURPHY ever make a bad record?"
