Inspired by the vivid imagery and surreal plots of 90s films such as Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, Roe Kapara’s debut EP, “I Hope Hell Isn’t Real,” follows a similar formula. Centered around a cinematic storyline, Roe conceptualized a miserable fictional character living in a dystopian world where only apathy reigns. As everything around him falls apart, he eventually dies, but, in a twist of events, he is brought back to life. After dying, he gains a new perspective and outlook on life, realizing it holds more meaning than he initially thought.
