Rodrigo Leao let himself be dazzled and carried away by the nature surrounding him, and from this experience was born an unexpected new album, "A Estranha Beleza da Vida". A positive, joyful, and festive record with special guests such as Kurt Wagner of Lambchop, Martirio, Suso Saiz, Michelle Gurevich, and Surma.Rodrigo Leao's new album, 'A Estranha Beleza da Vida', will be released on October 15, 2021, and will also mark Rodrigo Leao's return to the international stage. The album was recorded by Joao Eleutério at Tabaqueira Studio in March 2021 and was produced and arranged by Rodrigo Leao, Joao Eleutério, and Pedro Oliveira.Rodrigo Leao spent a covid lockdown at home in the beautiful Alentejo region of Portugal. Inspired by the nature around him, he began working on new music that eventually took shape on the album "A Estranha Beleza da Vida". Kurt Wagner of Lambchop, Martirio, Suso Saiz, Michelle Gurevich, and Surma appear on the album full of positive and joyful energy.For the first single from the record, the artist chose one of his favorite songs from the set, referencing the joyful rhythms of the 1950s - "Friend of a Friend" performed with Canadian singer Michelle Gurevich. "It was a theme that initially started from the search for a joyful rhythm, with a certain influence from 1950s music, and it gave me the enthusiasm I was looking for to find new ideas. It takes us back to a time very different from the one we are currently living in."The album 'A Estranha Beleza da Vida' completes the 'A Liberdade' trilogy, which was preceded by the album 'O Método' and the EP "Avis 2020".Throughout his career, Rodrigo has composed and conceived some of his albums as if they were films, a story he wants to tell. From there, as in a film, it is about giving the right voices to each character who plays a role in this narrative. Completed by sound environments and music, Rodrigo carries out the final edit that gives each record a diverse musical scope, dictated by the story of each "film". This was the path followed in albums such as 'Alma Mater', 'Cinema', or 'A Mae', where the guests are the characters that make up the story. In common, more than a musical style, these records share the idea of thinking of an album as if it were a film, assuming cinema as a style transversal to all projects.
