Rizomagic intertwines Colombian tropical traditions with sound textures and electronic processes, drawing inspiration from the principles of cosmic tuning and the slowed groove of Monterrey's Cumbia Rebajada. Cumbión Planetario is a journey into the heart of psychotropicolombian futurism, stemming from the rich underground music scene of Bogota, recorded at the artist residency La Becque in the Swiss Alps. Rizomagic is an electronic music duo composed of Edgar Marún and Diego Manrique, originally from Bogota, Colombia. Formed in 2020 while both musicians were students, the group is influenced as much by contemporary electronic music as by traditional Colombian rhythms, and has developed a style they call "psychotropicolombian futurism," following the path laid by other Colombian experimental artists such as Frente Cumbiero, the Meridian Brothers, and Las Piranhas, but in a resolutely electronic universe.
