Landscape From Memory
Description
Rival Consoles has been both at the forefront and on the sidelines of electronic music since the late 2000s. He has summoned intense melancholy for the soundtracks of Black Mirror, performed in front of 10,000 dance fans at Drumsheds, played sold-out shows at London's Barbican Hall, and recorded a vast and wandering collection of synth-sculpted albums, exploring a myriad of different styles and aesthetics, but always with human emotion as the common thread. The ninth studio album by British producer and musician Ryan Lee West finally took off after a frustrating fallow year away from production. For West, after spending the last decade producing and writing routinely, a loss of love for creativity led to a slowdown. Partly composed from an album of abandoned audio fragments, Landscape from Memory required a certain openness and vulnerability in its assembly. These major productions are characterized by their dynamism and are driven by West's desire to step out of his comfort zone, drawing inspiration from new and unfamiliar sources. After his self-built studio in Hackney suddenly felt too controlled, West changed course, conceiving tracks away from his desk. To that end, Landscape from Memory is a creative travelogue in motion, a collection of postcards from around the world, and an album defined by its restlessness.Buy Landscape From Memory at the best price
