It has been twenty years since Richard Hawley left band life, first with the Longpigs, then as a guitarist for Pulp. Since then, the 52-year-old composer has forged one of the most singular and diverse careers in modern music. In addition to a series of solo albums that achieved the feat of being both commercial and critical successes, Hawley has collaborated with a myriad of stars including Arctic Monkeys, Elbow, and Paul Weller, friends as well as personal heroes like American guitarist Duane Eddy (Richard co-produced Road Trip, his 2011 album), Shirley Bassey (for whom he wrote the incendiary ballad "After The Rain" in 2009), and Nancy Sinatra.
