Live at Rockpalast 1977

Description

Richard Thompson, a pioneer of British Folk Rock considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time, is featured in this 3 CD + 2 DVD box set of previously unreleased live recordings. It includes two concerts captured during his 1983 Hand of Kindness tour: the first in Hamburg with Simon Nicol, Dave Pegg and Dave Mattacks (Fairport Convention) at his side, and the second on the occasion of MIDEM, at the beginning of 1984, this time with Gerry Conway replacing Dav Mattacks and Rory McFarlane in place of Dave Pegg, who had left to record with Jethro Tull. These two concerts are particularly representative of the energy Richard brings both to his audience and to his stage partners, who are galvanized, brilliantly carrying the music of their “boss.” A true must-have for fans of Richard Thompson and, more broadly, folk rock.
