Richard Thompson, British Folk Rock pioneer and one of the greatest guitarists of all time, is featured in this 3-CD + 2-DVD unreleased live box set. It includes two concerts recorded during his 1983 Hand of Kindness tour: the first in Hamburg with Simon Nicol, Dave Pegg, and Dave Mattacks (Fairport Convention) by his side, and a second at MIDEM in early 1984, this time with Gerry Conway replacing Dave Mattacks and Rory McFarlane taking Dave Pegg's place as he had left to record with Jethro Tull. These two concerts are particularly representative of the energy Richard exudes, both towards his audience and his invigorated bandmates, who brilliantly perform their "boss's" music.
