After the split of the Black Crowes, the two “enemy” brothers Robinson continued their solo careers brilliantly. Flux is the worthy successor to Ceaseless Sight, released in 2014, which could be criticized for a few instrumental wanderings. The album gets off to a good start with “The Upstairs Land.” The third track, “Music That Will Lift Me,” the album’s standout song, has a melody that will hypnotize you! The other tracks, “Life” and “Eclipse The Night,” oscillate between echoes of the Black Crowes and Led Zeppelin, one of their major influences. He even allows himself to compose a country ballad with “Time To Leave,” where all you have to do is close your eyes and let yourself be carried away. The album ends with “Sleepwalker,” whose chorus is not unlike “Kashmir” by the dirigible.
