Ten years after the very first record from the Jungle Gym label, Jared Carrigan (aka René Najera) finally releases his first vinyl LP under his alias. Born in Minnesota and based in L.A., Carrigan is a prolific underground figure, operating through a nebula of projects (V. Kristoff, Freaks of Nature, Lac Seul...). Painted Life originates from a live performance in 2023 designed for a tour in Japan, then reworked with the help of close collaborators (Leech, Tile Plazas, Precipitation, Maria Minerva). The album aims to be a "book of memories," with each track serving as a sonic postcard blending dreamy house, dawn electronica, vaporous acid, and club improvisation. Music for wandering and moments, Painted Life captures the brilliance of ephemeral moments — between smoke, light, and memory.
