Despite the thousands of kilometers that separate them, Monterrey and Medellín have always seemed to move forward in parallel. The two cities rise around protective hills that watch over their inhabitants, and upon closer inspection, even the concrete that forms the framework of each of them finds its origin in these rugged metropolises. The list of coincidences could continue — small, almost conspiratorial links that chance has woven between these two places. Adding a new chapter to this improbable connection, Regal86 had already crossed the bridge once to dive into the depths of the "city of eternal spring" in Colombia. Doble Filo, his first true release on vinyl, is now his new business card. The eighth release in the Discos Nutabe catalog, the record brings together six tracks — six sharp pieces that unflinchingly expose Regal86's sonic marginality.
A marginality that is not suffered but chosen: a deliberate stance aimed at circumventing the expectation of exoticism that still shapes a large part of the Latin American electronic landscape. Here, techno is spicy, rough, without rules or discipline, driven by dense and jerky progressions that pull you into a vortex disguised as a rayado ritual.
