Raül Refree is one of the most recognized Spanish producers of the last ten years, and tak:til/Glitterbeat is proud to present La Otra Mitad, his new album. Refree (aka Raùl Fernandez) has worked with artists like Silvia Pérez Cruz and Rosalía, at the forefront of the "neo-flamenco" movement. He has also collaborated with experimental rock artists like Lee Ranaldo from Sonic Youth. He has released six albums and composed several soundtracks for films, blurring the boundaries between genres. It is this blend of soundscapes that makes La Otra Mitad ("the other half") such an immersive and travel-like album, with its explosions of hypnotic acoustic and electric guitars, samples, and ghostly voices. La Otra Mitad consists of two instrumental EPs released in 2017. The first, Jai Alai Vol. 01, was a collection of meditative guitar pieces, each titled based on the instrument used and the recording date.
