A collective of gifted songwriters, Real Estate composed their new album, "Atlas", while touring American and European roads. Recorded in Wilco's studio with Tom Schick (Sean Lennon, Low...), "Atlas" elegantly refines the very particular artistic vision that made its predecessor, "Days" (2011), so charming. Evoking drives along wooded roads, country hikes, and hazy summer evenings, the band's songs echo the melodies of Galaxie 500, Yo La Tengo, Neu, Nick Drake, and Pavement: a typically American form of impressionism, precise and taut, imbued with a gentle melancholy.
