Zebu nation

Description

RAZIA was born on the eastern coast of Madagascar to an Afro-Arab mother and an Indian father. She began singing at the age of 3 and at 11 moved to Gabon. After earning a doctorate in pharmacology, RAZIA traveled the world and settled in Harlem, New York, where she regularly performed in many venues. In February 2007, RAZIA returned to her homeland. There, she met inspiring local musicians but also observed the damage suffered by the forests of her country. From this experience, Zébu Nation was born, an album of ten tracks that draws its roots from the musical history of Madagascar. Her compositions are inspired by tsapiky and salegy, two Malagasy musical styles, blended with contemporary arrangements and Razia's sweet voice, resulting in a bouquet of catchy songs. In addition to delivering a message of urgency, Zébu Nation paints a personal and emotional portrait of Madagascar. A touching and inspired album that celebrates the richness of Madagascar's musical culture.
