Description

Ralph Towner is the originator of this original duo with uncommon instrumentation. The American guitarist is recognizable among all with a style that has absorbed influences from baroque music, contemporary composition, Brazilian music, and jazz, and which primarily refers to the jazz of Bill Evans. The program includes original compositions, improvisations, and a version of "Blue In Green," the theme by Bill Evans/Miles Davis. This choice proves particularly appropriate for the Italian trumpeter Paolo Fresu, whose purity and elegance of sound sometimes evoke the sound of Miles in his early days. This poetic and lyrical program allows the trumpeter to play with multiple nuances and variations of sounds.
