Public Service Broadcasting announces today This New Noise, the newly remixed and remastered live recording of their acclaimed concert at the BBC Proms 2022 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, which will be released on September 8, 2023 via Test Card Recordings. Celebrating the power of radio written on the occasion of the centenary of the BBC, This New Noise saw the band join forces with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, made up of 88 musicians and conducted by Jules Buckley. This performance, which stood out at the BBC Proms 2022, received 5* in The Telegraph. Founding member J. Willgoose, Esq. remixed the concert from scratch, bringing out even more depth and texture from a multifaceted performance and showing it in a new light. It has now been over ten years since Public Service Broadcasting "teaches the lessons of the past through the music of the future."
Their second album, The Race For Space, released in 2015, quickly went gold with over 100,000 copies sold in the UK alone. In 2017 they worked with James Dean Bradfield of the Manic Street Preachers to create Every Valley, an emotional exploration of community and memory through the rise and fall of the coal industry in Britain. Bright Magic, released in 2021, and their most ambitious album to date, entered at number 2 in the UK Albums Chart.
