Izzy Hagerup has been working on the songs for Prewn's debut album for nearly ten years. It was only with the pandemic that she was finally able to fully dedicate herself to finalizing them. Thanks to the opportunity to write and record at Kevin McMahon's (Swans, The Walkmen, Pile) Marcata Studio during the lockdowns, she was able to focus without distraction and bring her ideas to life. She describes this immersive period in the studio as a transformative experience, especially thanks to the total isolation where "creation was at the center of everything and where I could truly be alone, which allowed me to discover myself more prolific than I ever would have imagined." The result is strikingly beautiful and devastatingly intense. Although the recordings remained unfinished, Prewn became one of the most in-demand bands in western Massachusetts. With full-band recordings planned soon, "Through The Window" is an intimate introduction to the project, capturing a place and a time, songs that imperiously demand to see the light of day.
