With "A Tenuous Tale of Her," British producer and singer Poté (aka Sylvern Mathurin) releases his
first album as a singer, having previously remixed artists like Gorillaz and Little Dragon. This record
is at once hard, tender, and grand, but above all, it is an ambitious work. The connections he has forged throughout
his career attest to the variety of his influences: with references such as Lisbon's kuduro-leaning
Enchufada label, Benji B, and Damon Albarn (with whom he co-wrote the featured single
"Young Lies" on the album), he has built a sound rich in ideas and musical references.
