Neo-classical composer Poppy Ackroyd, formerly a member of The Hidden Orchestra, has released her fourth album, "Resolve," on the One Little Indian label (Bjork, Cody Chesnutt). While her earlier albums focused on pushing the possibilities of the piano and violin, the Brighton-based musician goes further this time with multiple arrangements featuring clarinet, flute, cello, and hang. With this new instrumental album, Poppy Ackroyd follows in the footsteps of Nils Frahm, Max Richter, and Haushka. The crystalline piano, with its echoing loops, blends with violins, and these classical sounds interweave with more contemporary melodies. With this new record, the composer establishes herself in the exclusive circle of neo-classical pianists and aims to leave her mark on the world of contemporary classical music.
