Formed in the mid-80s in the Midlands, the band continues not only to devour pop, but also to pour it into a chaos of exhilarating ideas on their new album “Delete Everything”. This eighth album sees them refine, define and deconstruct their blend of industrial rock, looping techno, gonzo hip-hop and punk rock into captivating sci-fi anthems. The band still looks and sounds like a songwriter straight out of a 2000 AD magazine, with Graham Crabb and Mary Byker trading vocals like bouncing Duracell rabbits over irresistible, compulsive rhythms. Davey Bennett provides the low end and Cliff Hewitt plays the beats, while Adam Mole delivers aggressive guitar and sometimes waves his keyboard around with delirious joy. Always creative, always in their own world, Pop Will Eat Itself have deleted everything and started all over again.
