Born from the ashes of World War II, the only daughter in a family of seven children, she was nicknamed Pinky. She grew up on the windy plains of Texas, singing in her church choir and dreaming of one day taking the stage. At just 18, she met the love of her life and soon married Cole Tex, a rodeo cowboy. Sharing the same thirst for adventure, they traveled the back roads. He wrote songs and Pinky performed them, playing in small bars and honky-tonks across the southwestern United States. These are a few of the rare recordings that remain.
