In the early days of Pinback, the band was primarily known as two musicians who spent their free time away from their main projects (Three Mile Pilot, Thingy, Heavy Vegetable) honing their home studio skills while experimenting with ideas, sounds, and instrumentation that didn't quite fit those main projects. In retrospect, this genuine curiosity is what makes these early Pinback recordings so resonant and unique, and what set them apart from all the indie rock bands of this century. Just as powerful and expressive as their first two albums, the 1999 EP, Some Voices, and the 2003 EP, Offcell, contradicted the notion that EPs are merely throwaways. What was ostensibly a minor step between two albums became a fan favorite and an essential part of Pinback's concerts. This vinyl reissue of the two EPs was originally released in 2017. Pressed on orange vinyl.
