Discover 'Our Calling,' the magnificent album born from the collaboration between Piers Faccini & Ballaké Sissoko. The exchange between Ballaké Sissoko and Piers Faccini began almost 20 years ago, when the two artists met at the same record label: Label Bleu. Immediately, a fascinating dialogue was established between the London-born folk composer, passionate about African music, and the musician from Bamako, heir to the great tradition of the kora and Mandingo music. In 2020, reuniting on the same label, this time Nø Førmat, their exchanges rekindled. Ballaké Sissoko then invited Piers Faccini to sing "Kadidja," a song in Bambara, on his album Djourou. Immediately afterward, Piers Faccini composed another song for the duo: "The Fire Inside." The two friends then decided to record an entire album together, scheduled for release in February 2025.
